Radon typically enters homes through pressure differences between the interior of a building and the surrounding soil. Because indoor air pressure is often slightly lower than the pressure in the soil beneath the home, radon is essentially drawn in like a vacuum. It can enter through cracks in concrete floors and walls, construction joints, gaps around service pipes, and even through crawl spaces. Even well-sealed homes are not immune, as radon can find entry points that are invisible to the naked eye.
